Parks & People focuses on restoring urban
natural resources and programs
for motivating youth, and actively supports
other organizations that increase recreational
opportunities and protect Baltimore's natural

Baltimore Alliance for Great Urban Parks -
a coalition of park advocates campaigning
for sustainable
funding for parks and recreation.
Baltimore
Ecosystem Study - a research
program for understanding metropolitan
Baltimore
as
an ecosystem by bringing
together researchers from the biological, physical,
and social sciences to collect new data and
synthesize existing information on how both
the natural and man-made systems of Baltimore
interact. Baltimore Track FAC - operated by the
Baltimore
City Department of Recreation & Parks,
a program for children ages 7-18, enabling them
to compete in local, state, and national events.
Baltimore/Chesapeake
Bay Outward Bound - established
by the Parks & People Foundation and operated
by the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School,
a program that encourages teamwork, confidence,
leadership, and community involvement through
outdoor experiential education.
City
Parks Alliance - a national advocacy
organization, with its home office in Washington,
DC, that builds stronger, healthier, and more
livable
cities by promoting involvement and investment
in urban parks.
The
Gwynns Falls Trail Council - The Gwynns
Falls Trail is a unique urban hiking and
biking trail providing
access
to
a scenic
and historic greenway stream valley in Baltimore
City managed by a partnership among public
agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community
representatives organized as the Gwynns Falls
Trail Council. The Trail has been
designated as part of the East
Coast Greenway and the Chesapeake
Bay Gateways Network. We look forward to

Urban
Ecology Collaborative - a
collection of public and nonprofit partners
from across the Eastern megalopolis working
with the U.S. Forest Service to establish
a regional prototype of an Urban Natural
Resouces Stewardship Program and the Next
Generation Tool Kit for urban restoration.
